Team Spirit Night, End of Season Banquet, Away Meet vs Brier Creek

Happy Saturday QH! We are in the final rush of the 2023 swim season with only 2 weeks left.  Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Thanks!

Spirit Night and Team Pictures

Mark your calendars for our Spirit Night on Sunday, July 16 from 6-8 pm. The pool will be open just for swim team families. More information will be coming in regards to food.

We will also be having team pictures during Spirit Night. Jay Omarius of Jay Omarius Photography will be coming to our pool to shoot individual and team pictures. He will begin with individual pictures while swimmers start arriving and once all individual pictures have been taken he will take a team picture. The pictures will be available for parents to download via a Google drive for $30 which includes 2-3 poses as well as a team picture. All swimmers need to wear their team suits for the team picture. Families are not required to purchase any pictures.

End of Season Banquet

A remind message was sent out yesterday morning with the link to RSVP for the banquet. Please make sure that you have filled out the google form (link below) so the concessions committee can plan the banquet accordingly.  This is the same link that was sent yesterday morning so if you filled out the google form via Remind you do not need to fill out the form in the link below.

When: Tuesday, July 25, 6-8pm

Location: Millbrook Baptist Church

Please use this link for initial RSVP - will you be attending, how many in your party and will this be your swimmer(s)' first year on the team or not?

Even if you will not be attending, please answer the first-year question so we can order your swimmer’s medal or pins appropriately.

Away Meet at Brier Creek

We have our 5th dual meet of the season on Tuesday, July 11 at Brier Creek. Please be at the pool at 5:15 pm for warm-ups. 6 and unders need to be at the pool at 5:45 pm. The meet will start promptly at 6 pm.

IMPORTANT INFO: Brier Creek does not have lights and therefore is not certified by Wake County to conduct swim meets after dark. Because of this the coaches are also limited to having no more than 3 heats (including the main event) for each event.  If the TSA reps see that the meet is not on track to finish before dark, they will swim main events only.  Therefore, the coaches will only be entering each swimmer in just three individual events instead of four individual events in order to have as many swimmers participate as possible

Brier Creek is an 8 lane pool so we will be able to swim more swimmers per event than if we were at our home pool. Of the four swimmers per team in the main event, we are still limited to only 3 who will score. Our swimmers in lane 8 will be marked as “exhibition swimmers” in the main event and will not score points, BUT since we will be using the Time Drops system to record times, all swimmers will receive a time for each of their events.

From Brier Creek:

Parking:

Your team is to park in the front lot along Arnold Palmer Dr.
Typically, this lot does fill up and then you're welcome to park on the pool side of Arnold Palmer or Club Hill Dr. It is preferred the visiting team park only on the tennis court side of Arnold Palmer Dr.

Map of Pool / Setup: See attached picture, visiting team setup is on the non-blocks side of the pool and near the slide well. Home team will be on the side near the Swim Pavilion and the blocks.

Food:

Our club provides Mulligans Grill and typically a swim meet special grab and go menu. Credit cards only will be accepted (MULLIGANS DOES NOT ACCEPT CASH). The 2023 menu can be found here:

Mulligan's 2023 Menu (invitedclubs.com)

Time Drops Live App

Time Drops Live is a free app that you can download and receive live updates throughout the meet. If you are interested in seeing your swimmer’s results in real time, please download the app.

Volunteering for Tuesday’s meet

Please see the signup genius link below to volunteer for the meet. We need to have 8 timers at Tuesday’s meet instead of just the normal 6.  WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO START THE MEET WITHOUT FILLING ALL 8 LANES WITH TIMERS.

With the increase in the number of timers we are required to bring, I have combined the kid pusher positions to show one kid pusher for both the boys and girls for the following age groups – 6 and unders, 7-8’s, and 9-10’s.

Also, remember each family is required to volunteer a minimum of three dual meets this season. While we have close to 100 swimmers on the team, we only have 60 total families. When even just a few families do not fulfill their required obligation to volunteer it falls on other families to step up.
