We had such a great time at the banquet last night! Thank you to Derrick Weaver & family for hosting us at Church of the Apostles at the last minute, running the sound board, setting up the dining room and Dolan helping us take out the trash! We are grateful to all of our hard working parent volunteers. These meets or events could not, would not happen without your dedication. Our volunteer coordinator, Quinn James, truly pulled a rabbit out of her hat each meet! She spent many days (and nights) filling gaps and making sure to cover every slot. Katie Humphries filled in every meet where needed. Marcia Hefner helped train parents in new positions during meets! Our TSA Representative, Glenda Dozier, goes to meetings all year for our team, gets the famous practice doughnuts, keeps our official documents, reports our meets and fights for our team harder than anyone! Well, Dave Hochstrasser fights hard for us too as a first or second place judge!! Alexander Barfield orders our ribbons and has for the last few decades. She has each place ribbon count down to a formula. And finally a big thanks to our awesome coaches! We appreciate their hard work, sweat, and sacrifice helping our swimmers be their best self! Thanks to everyone for a fantastic season! The awards are listed on the Results tab.
Having grown up in Quail Hollow, I have many great memories of swimming for the Amberjacks. My husband and I moved to Quail Hollow in 2009 and we joined the club in 2011. My children, Turner (9) and Willow (6), have both enjoyed being members of the Amberjacks since 2014. I have spent many years as a part of the local summer and year round swimming community and continue to enjoy the sport through the Raleigh Area Masters swim team and open water swimming competitions. We are looking forward to growing our swim team community and having another great season watching our children grow and learn both in and out of the pool.
As a child, swim team was a huge part of our summers. We were always at the pool and loved being a Green Pines Gator. Jason and I are so happy to be able to provide the same experience for our children; William 8, Scotland 6, Hudson 4. We joined the pool when we moved into the neighborhood 8 years and love our neighbors and community. We are looking forward to another great summer ahead.
