Coach Ian Hilbrant started Swimming in 2005 when he was 7 years old for a summer team known as the South Pointe Sea Stars in Naperville, Illinois. After one season at SP, he began swimming for one of the local USA Clubs, Maverick Swim Club. He swam 2 years at the College level at Iowa Central Community College where he was an 8-time national finalist over his two years there. While still swimming Coach Ian began coaching in 2013 for the same summer team he started swimming with and has Coached at multiple levels including YMCA and USA Swimming.
Currently, Coach Ian Coaches the AG2 and Senior 1 Practice groups for the North Raleigh Site at the Marlins of Raleigh Swim Team, as well as coaches the Swim League developmental program. Over that time he's had the privilege to coach multiple Amberjacks and is excited to get to coach the rest of the team as well.
I have always loved spending time around the water and am very passionate about swimming. I started swimming club at the age of 5 and when I moved to North Carolina I continued swimming club and summer league. I continued my passion for swimming into college where I swam at Seton Hall and studied sport management and marketing. After graduating I came back to North Carolina and started coaching for MOR.

Hey Amberjacks, I’m Ainsley McInnis and I’m a rising senior at Enloe High School! This is my 3rd year as a junior coach and my 12th as a swimmer. I have also previously swam competitively at Wave. Outside of swim I am a member of Enloe’s varsity women’s lacrosse team and I also play club soccer for NCFC. I’m excited for another year with the amberjacks!

Coach Mason is a rising senior at Raleigh Charter High School. He has been swimming for the Quail Hollow swim team for 12 years. He swam year round for the Marlins of Raleigh for 5 years. In his spare time he plays soccer for his school team, NCFC, and the Central Raleigh Dragons semi-pro team.

Coach Grace is a rising sophomore at Sanderson High School and has been a part of the Quail Hollow community for 5 years. She has plenty of experience with swim from swimming competitively on both MOR and WAVE. Her favorite stroke is backstroke and she loves engaging in different physical activities. Some of her biggest strengths are making learning fun and making good connections with the people she works with. She is great with kids and looks forward to another season with the Amberjacks!!
My name is William, and I have been playing soccer and swimming for most of my life. Through sports, I have learned the importance of teamwork, leadership, and hard work. I enjoy helping others and creating a positive environment for younger kids to learn and grow. I am kind, patient, and always ready to support children as they develop new skills and confidence in swimming. I am excited for the opportunity to volunteer and make a positive impact on the kids I work with.
Coach Scotland is a rising 8th grader and is homeschooled. She has been swimming for QHST since she was 4 years old. Scotland has swam competitively year-round at WAVE for 6 years and still is. Her favorite event is the 200 breaststroke and her favorite stroke is breaststroke. Outside of swimming Scotland likes to hang out with friends, watch shows, and shop. She loves this sport so much and is very excited to not only be a junior coach but to make an impact on the kids as they learn and grow. Scotland can’t wait to help make this upcoming season as much fun and memorable as possible!
Hi, my name is Coach Ellie! I am a rising 8th grader at Wake Young Women’s Leadership Academy, and I have always had a passion for swimming. I have been swimming for Quail Hollow and the Marlins of Raleigh since 2018 and my favorite strokes are freestyle and backstroke. My name is Coach Claire and I’m a rising freshman at Needham Broughton High School! I’ve been swimming with Quail Hollow Swim Team for summer swim since 2017 and Marlins of Raleigh year-round since 2018, so swimming has become such an important part of my life! I’m so excited to be a Junior Coach this season because I love working with kids and helping swimmers grow their confidence, improve their skills, and have fun in the water. I can’t wait to cheer everyone on, make great memories this summer, and be part of an amazing season!
Coach Willow is a rising 8th grader at Friendship Christian School. She has been swimming for QHST since she was 5 years old and swam at Wave for 5 years. She also plays volleyball and soccer for her school. Willow enjoys both swimming and coaching, and she is super excited for this season!
Coach Lucy is a rising freshman at Sanderson High School and has been swimming at Quail Hollow for 10 years! Previously, she swam with WAVE and worked at Arts Together Preschool over the summer. Outside of swimming, Lucy enjoys performing, singing, and dancing. Her favorite stroke is breaststroke. She’s looking forward to supporting young Amberjacks and having an awesome summer!
Hi everyone. My name is Rylie Olson and I am one of the Junior Coaches this year! I am a rising freshman at Sanderson High School and I began swimming when I was 4 years old. During this time I passed the swim test at the YMCA. I started swimming for Quail Hollow when I was about 8 years old and I also did year around at New Wave Swim Team. Another place I have swam for is the Millbrook Marlins and hopefully I will be swimming for Sanderson later on. My favorite strokes and events are the 200 Freestyle and the 50 Butterfly. I look forward to not only helping swimmers improve strokes and technique, but also encouraging team spirit!
Coach Olivia is a rising freshman at Sanderson High School and has been swimming at QHST since she was 4 years old. She swam competitively year-round with WAVE for six years, specializing in her favorite stroke, breaststroke. Outside of swimming, Olivia enjoys playing basketball, softball, and volleyball, where she competes for Cap City Volleyball. She loves connecting with others and building relationships, and she is excited to help the kids grow while making this season fun and memorable!
