tonight's meet, volunteers, team pictures

Good morning!  There are a few announcements that I wanted to share with the team:

Home Meet vs North Hills Club

We have our second home meet (third meet overall) tonight against North Hills Club.  All swimmers (except for 6 and unders) need to be at the pool by 4:45 pm in their team suits and team t-shirts.  Also, please bring your Quail Hollow swim cap.

Our team will warm up at 5 pm and the meet will start at 6 pm.  6 and unders need to be at the pool by 5:45 pm.

Poblanos Tacos and More food truck (https://poblanostacos.com/menu/) as well as Sunset Slush will be at the pool.  Both take cash and card.  We will also have a fully stocked concessions stand at the pool who also take cash and card.

A few reminders about the dual meet:

  • All swimmers and parents will need to enter and exit by the gate at the tennis courts.
    • No one will be allowed to use the main pool entrance except for those who require special assistance.
    • We are also not allowing any swimmers or parents to walk through the roped off area near the lifeguard shack. There are lots of expensive equipment that is used behind the scenes to make the meet run, and we need to have that area free of congestion.
  • Swimmers do NOT have numbers assigned this summer. No sharpies will be needed for the swimmers or kid pushers.
  • We ask that all QH swimmers and parents either park on Quail Hollow Drive or walk to the meet. We would like to reserve the parking lot for our visiting team.
  • When your child arrives at the pool on Tuesday, please have them find their age group's designated area. It will be marked with a sign and is typically at a table with a blue umbrella near the cabanas.
    • It is very important that your child stays in their age group's area as it will help the kid pushers in getting all swimmers to the clerk of course. If you prefer that your child sit with you, it is your responsibility to get them to the clerk of course for their event as there will be too many spectators and children on deck for the kid pushers to search for your child.
    • Children are expected to behave and listen to the coaches and parent volunteers. Any child who can’t be respectful to the coaches or parent volunteers will be asked to sit with their parents who will be in charge of getting them to the clerk of course.
    • Please let your child know that if they need to use the restroom or find you, they need to notify a kid pusher before they leave. Swimmers are allowed to bring small activities (cards, coloring items, etc) to the meet, but it is their responsibility to keep up with any items brought.

We are still in need of one more timer and a ribbon writer.  The ribbon writer does not actually write anything on the ribbons.  This summer we purchased a wifi printer to print already filled out labels for the ribbons.  The ribbon writer just needs to peel the label off the page and put it on the corresponding ribbon.  It's a very easy job and one that allows you to be at the starting end of the pool (under the life guard shack) which is a great spot to view your child swim.

Please remember every family is required to work three meets this summer.  We cannot start the meet without filling these two positions.

Spirit Night and Team Pictures

Spirit Night will be on Sunday, July 16 from 6-8 pm.  The pool will be closed to the regular membership for our team event.  We also have a photographer lined up to take individual and team pictures at the start of spirit night.  More information will be coming soon with specific details on cost, sign-up genius, etc.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Katie
