Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a nice Christmas and New Year’s.

The swim team season will be here before we know it, and while the hope is the season runs like a well-oiled machine, the truth is there is a lot of work behind the scenes. 

I am currently looking for volunteers to help lead various committees of the swim team. I will be involved in all of the committees, but need parents to chair the following:

Technology – The technology chair will be in charge of the computer system for swim meets.  They will set up the laptop/swim team computer program and help troubleshoot any problems that involve the internet and/or Wi-Fi.

Apparel – The apparel chair will be in charge of organizing and distributing the team suit, t-shirts, and any other merchandise that is sold or given to the swimmers and parents.

Concessions – The concessions chair will coordinate all of the concessions for home meets. This could include bake sales, food trucks, selling candy, grilling hamburgers/hot dogs, ordering pizza or Chick-fil-a, etc.

Sponsorships – The sponsorship chair will reach out to current team sponsors to see if they want to renew for the 2023 season as well as find new businesses to sponsor our team. They will also help the sponsor with creating and ordering their poolside banner.

Team Spirit – The team spirit chair will coordinate the donut Tuesdays, prizes for the weekly awards, work the coaches on ordering the medals/trophies for the swimmers, as well as organize the swim team banquet at the end of the season.

I am very hopeful that by dividing and conquering we can make this summer one of teamwork and ease which will give our swimmers and parents a great swim team experience.
